All organizations develop their own talent management technology.
IT companies are of particular interest. In this industry, the knowledge of talented employees, not critical resources, is a major source of competitive advantage, so IT companies are interested in attracting and retaining the best specialists in the industry to climb up the vertex.

For instance, Apple is always looking for staff who can achieve high growth rates. The key to success is the adaptation process. As soon as the task completes successfully, the employee receives a new task. This is very different from the previous task. All team members need to learn quickly and learn new tools. Therefore, the team in this organization should always be prepared for atypical calls and assignments.

Another example is a large publisher that has created its own system for adapting new professionals. This applies to full-time employees and temporary freelancers.

When hiring, we don’t prioritize gaining experience as much as a competent employee. These principles have created a team that reflects the interests and preferences of users in multiple regions. What’s more, the company welcomes employees’ desire to learn new things, such as new programming languages and management skills. Employees have access to a variety of training programs, including professional training, online learning systems, and the ability to learn from other employees through special programs. The company also has an employee rotation program that allows employees to gain knowledge and experience in other offices.

Some shortcomings may not be immediately noticeable.

  • Dissatisfaction with being informed about the company’s development and potential for promotion;
  • The majority of employees experienced discomfort during the adaptation period. This is primarily related to the difficulty of mastering the social norms of behaviour necessary to perform labour functions.
  • The majority of respondents (60%) said management is not always interested in learning outcomes, which also motivates employees to further self-develop.
  • 75% of respondents want to make changes to their training program.
  • The majority of respondents believe that programs aimed at forming personnel reserves within an organization do not affect a significant number of employees, and most of them are in fact don’t know about this program.

To solve these indirect problems, the company created its own information portal and website and developed it mainly in collaboration with clients. When you use your work account to access the site, all employees have access to a common document, news, and contact database for all employees.
